Pediatric Care

Start your child’s life out on the right foot by scheduling pediatric care for them from the time they’re born until they’re ready to leave your house. For comprehensive, kind, and affordable pediatric care, turn to the multilingual team at Premier Family Medicine located in Denver. Schedule your child’s appointment online or over the phone today.

Who needs pediatric care?

Children from birth to the age of 18 need pediatric care, which is designed to cater to the health concerns of children and teenagers.

It’s important to schedule regular pediatric care for your kids, not only because it ensures their health and wellness, but it also teaches them life skills.

By going to the doctor, your children can learn how to talk to doctors and advocate for their health from a young age. The team at Premier Family Medicine offers pediatric services such as:

  • Annual physicals
  • School and sports physicals
  • Preventive care
  • Sick visits
  • Health counseling
  • Immunizations and flu shots
  • Allergy testing

They also can help you navigate behavioral health concerns and treat your child for acute conditions like infections, injuries, and illness.

When should I bring my child in for pediatric care?

You should routinely bring in your child for immunizations and booster shots when they’re due. You also should bring them in every year for a physical.

Beyond this, Premier Family Medicine is here to help you with any health issues your child faces. Sometimes, because small children so frequently catch the sniffles or get a stomach ache from germ and bacteria, you can struggle to decipher between a serious and non-serious ailment.

If you’re not sure whether or not you should book an appointment with your pediatrician, follow this rule of thumb: If your child sustains a fever of at least 100º F for 48 hours, schedule an appointment.

If they have a fever of 104º F or higher at any point, bring them in for a walk-in appointment immediately.  Also, pay attention for signs or complaints of any of the following symptoms from your child:

  • Diarrhea that lasts more than a few hours
  • Ear pain
  • A rash coupled with extreme fatigue or lethargy
  • A rash that doesn’t improve with over-the-counter treatment
  • Painful urination, especially with girls

If you notice any of these signs of illness, book an appointment with Premier Family Medicine.
